UT raises objections to PU manpower audit report

In the report, audit para 10 says appointment of A, B and C class employees has been made on contractual basis without budgetary allocation. The audit report states that the university has not assessed the workload of each department. University authorities told the audit department that the manpower audit committee is conducting an assessment of the workload and they are visiting departments to ascertain the number of employees in each. In 2015, departments were instructred not to seek sanction of any new post under their non-plan budget.


Objections have been raised over para 14 of the audit report on refund of interest earned on 10% employer share from the pension corpus of PU current account. To this, the university said necessary compliance is being made by the section concerned.


Para 22 mentions increase of posts in budget estimates for the year 2016-17 without giving reference of the sanction of the competent authority. Officials said the reply submitted to the university is under consideration. The issue of hike in the salary of the fitness trainer in the directorate of sports from Rs 12,000 per month to Rs 30,000 per month was also tabled at the board of finance meeting held on Tuesday. Members decided to send the issue to the human resource development ministry to prevent future objections.
