Surprise raid produces mobile, SIM in Central jail

Hazaribagh district administration made a surprise raid in JP Central Jail on Monday night and recovered several mobiles phones, SIM cards, charger and other objectionable items from different wards and cells of the jail.

SP Anoop Birthare and SDO Aditya Ranjan led the district administration team which raided the jail at about 10.30 pm when all the inmates were either sleeping or going to sleep in their wards.

The district administration was regularly getting information that some notorious inmates are regularly violating the norms and are using items which are prohibited inside the premises. On Sunday SDO Aditya Ranjan and his team has made a raid in the jail but returned empty handed.

Since the higher officials of district administration were of the opinion that the sources that gave them the inside information are faithful so they planned this surprise raid only a day after the failed raid.

This time they chose the time when every inmate remains at their scheduled place and no space or time was given to the staffs of JP Central Jail who helps the inmates in providing such facilities.

The information of raid was given to the jail administration only after the arrival of officials at the jails main gate. Since SP Anoop Birthare and his police team was included in the raid team so they without wasting any time rushed towards the wards and cells in which the inmates were kept having concrete information of using banned items inside the premises.

Talking with newsmen SP and SDO said that now we will investigate thoroughly that how these banned items reached inside the jail campus and will try to identify the staffs of the JP Central jail who are involved in this corrupt practice.
