Woman commits suicide

A 31-year-old woman allegedly hanged  herself from a ceiling fan at her CCL quarter in Govindpur area under Bokaro thermal police station, police said on Tuesday.

 The incident reportedly took  place in afternoon, but the police was informed in the evening, said Officer-in charge, Prameshwar Leyangi. The deceased has been identified as Puspa Karmokar wife of Pritam Karmokar who reportedly had frequent quarrels with her husband.

Even last night they had an argument. Their children who had gone to school returned home this afternoon, but knocks on the door went unanswered when they broke open the door and found her body hanging from the ceiling fan.

The body could not be sent for autopsy due to some technicalities. The local police have carried out an inquiry and recorded the statements of the woman’s family and registered a case.
