Travaglia has revealed how he was called upon to hit with Federer back in 2014, to help the Swiss star prepare for the latter half of the season.
The world No 135 was 22 at the time when he got the call and flew straight from Buenos Aires to Dubai to hook up with Federer.
And Travaglia revealed to Tennis Italiano how the opening session with Federer turned into a horror show until the Wimbledon champion calmed him down.
“I was there to give Federer rhythm, the day after (I arrived) I was on court and he was on the other side of the net," Travaglia said.
“He launched the ball towards me, flat, comfortable, and I threw it into the net.

He was calm, I felt lost
“He launched another, perfect and flat, and I hit it more energetically and it ended outside the court.
“The third ball, same trajectory: out. I was devastated.
“He was calm, I felt lost, he looked at me and was like: “Take it easy”.
“And we started playing. We did it for two weeks.”
Federer failed to win a Grand Slam in 2014, despite reaching the Wimbledon final.
It was thought the Swiss legend was slowly winding down and, in 2016, he missed two of the Slams due to injury.

This term, however, Federer has been back to his best and claimed the Australian Open and Wimbledon at the age of 36.
And Travaglia says he still gets to see his idol from time to time.
“Now that I am finally playing Grand Slams, it happened that I met him, he remembered, said hello and asked if I could stop to watch him,” Travaglia added to Tennis Italiano.
“It's tennis. When I know about other colleagues who are his sparring partners and I tell them about my first three balls I find out it happened to them too.
“Hitting with tennis history produces this effect.”
