PATNA: Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) chief and Union minister Ram Vilas Paswan on Tuesday flayed RJD chief Lalu Prasad and his elder son Tej Pratap Yadav for creating a hullabaloo over downgrading of security.
Condemning Tej Pratap for threatening PM Narendra Modi, Paswan said: "Today Tej Pratap is using expletives against PM Modi, tomorrow he will use the same words for his father. I will suggest Lalu not to give such culture to his son, otherwise he will have to face the repercussions himself. What kind of message Lalu is trying to send by patting the back of his son for using such foul language?"
Speaking at a function to celebrate the LJP's 18th foundation day at Samrat Ashok International Convention Centre here, Paswan said: "Actually, Tej Pratap is not concerned about the safety of his father. Rather, he is frustrated over his own neglect in his party as well as family."
Taking a dig at Lalu for challenging NDA in the upcoming elections, Paswan said: "If Lalu had the required vote bank, why didn't he win the last assembly elections on his own? Why is he showing attitude on the victory he got in the name of Nitish Kumar. He will face the reality if his party faces the election alone."
Paswan also hailed the JD(U) for rejoining the NDA. "Lalu is a symbol of corruption whereas Nitish symbolizes good governance. There alliance could never have been natural. Now, the country is developing under Narendra Modi model and Bihar is developing under Nitish model," he said.
Paswan's son and Jamui MP Chirag Paswan also targeted Lalu in his speech. "Lalu is not emotionally attached to people and development is not at all his agenda. That is the reason his regime in Bihar was referred to as 'jungle raj' ... He should not be worried about his security as all antisocial elements are with him only," Chirag said.
