Then, the Cabinet was informed of latest developments and their consequences, especially the 2nd expanded meeting of the Syrian revolution forces and opposition, recently held in Riyadh, the outcomes of which were welcomed by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, citing the closing of the ranks of all factions and platforms of the opposition, concluding in a joint vision and establishing a single negotiating team, representing all forces, in order to consolidate opposition negotiating position and to contribute to realizing the aspirations of the fraternal Syrian people.
The Cabinet, also, tackled the Kingdom's reiterated stance, stressed during the meetings of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC), in its 23rd session, held in Istanbul, Turkey, that working to confront economic challenges facing Islamic countries, contribute to the development-related efforts, upgrading and dissemination of knowledge, exchange of experiences and sharing the best practices, in addition to making closer the policies they adopt.
The minister pointed out that the Cabinet has lauded the success of the 1st International Conference of ASEAN member states' Muslims, organized by the Kingdom's Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, in Kuala Lumpur, under the motto: Islamic Nation is A Moderate Nation.
He also spotlighted participants views included in the final communique, which expressed appreciation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for cooperating with Muslims across ASEAN countries, in holding such an annual forum, in addition to highly valuation of the leading role played by the Kingdom, in serving Islam and Muslims, defending them and their causes, proliferation of moderation, decency and tolerance of Islam, through shunning extremism, renouncing fanaticism and terrorism, proceedings form its message of contributing to close the ranks against challenges facing the Islamic nation.
The Cabinet hailed endeavors exerted by all concerned departments, in the Kingdom, Egypt, UAE and the Kingdom of Bahrain, in the light of their unflinching commitment to fight terrorism, recalling the latest adding of two entities and eleven persons on the list of banned terrorists, reiterating obligations to lay ground of the basis of security and stability, in the region and actively acting, all over the world, to limit extremist and terrorist organizations and outfits' activities.
