PM Modi flags of Hyderabad metro rail, meets Ivanka at Global Entrepreneurship Summit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Hyderabad today on a day-long visit. He is in the city to inaugurate the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) and has met Ivanka Trump, the advisor and daughter of US President Donald Trump, at the event. PM Modi also inaugurated the Hyderabad metro rail.

PM Modi as well as Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao took a ride in the metro on its maiden run. Ivanka also touched down in the city in the early hours today to attend the GES, co-hosted by India and the US.

 

On the sidelines of the GES 2017, Ivanka Trump met Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The two met each other with their respective delegations. The two also took a tour of the GES venue.

Before meeting Modi, Ivanka interacted with External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj as the two were seen leaving a discussion on women entrepreneurship and empowerment.

Governor of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana ESL Narasimhan, Telangana CM Rao, Union Minister of State for Home, Hansraj Ahir, several Telangana ministers and BJP leaders were among those who welcomed PM Modi at Begumpet Airport.

The prime minister also addressed a party meeting after arriving here this afternoon.

The 30-km-long first phase of the metro rail project between Miyapur and Nagole, having 24 stations, would be thrown open to the public from tomorrow.

The prime minister is scheduled to attend a dinner tonight at the Falaknuma Palace (now a luxury hotel), built during the Nizam era, before concluding his Hyderabad visit.
