GES 2017: Donald Trump will participate in summit ‘virtually’

"Yes, US President Trump will be delivering a virtual address at the GES on Tuesday," Telangana industries principal secretary Jayesh Ranjan confirmed to TOI.
HYDERABAD: US President Donald Trump will address the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) 2017 on Tuesday evening via a video conference and make a televised statement on the importance of encouraging women in entrepreneurship.

While his daughter and advisor Ivanka Trump will be present alongside Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the GES inaugural plenary at Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) on Tuesday, Donald Trump will take part in the summit virtually.

According to sources, Trump's message will be a "short one but effective enough" to convey his strong encouragement for greater participation of women in entrepreneurship.

"Yes, US President Trump will be delivering a virtual address at the GES on Tuesday," Telangana industries principal secretary Jayesh Ranjan confirmed to TOI.

In 2012, at the Dubai GES, then US President Barack Obama had made a televised statement on the importance of encouraging initiative and entrepreneurship in theMiddleEast.

In 2013, US Secretary of State John Kerry represented President Obama at the fourth GES in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In 2014, US VP Joe Biden attended the GES in Moroccan capital Marrakesh, while Obama and US secretary of commerce attended the 2015 edition of GES in Nairobi, Kenya.
