13 new Bills to be tabled in winter session of Maha assembly

The winter session of Legislature will be held for two weeks beginning December 11, wherein 13 new Bills would be tabled, minister said today.

"Thirteen new bills will be introduced in both the Houses during the two weeks of the state Legislature starting December 11. Besides, 11 ordinances will also be tabled for the approval of the House, as decided by the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) today," the Minister for Affairs told reporters here.


Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council, Dhananjay Munde, demanded that the session be held for a period of four weeks for discussion over several serious issues concerning

"There should be a debate on the action report of the Kelkar committee, which has been appointed to find out the regional imbalance of development," he said.

"This session will be held in the backward region and hence this debate is needed. There was a debate on (Vijay) Kelkar committee report during the winter session in 2014 in Nagpur," he added.

Responding to Munde's demand, Bapat said the BAC will meet once again on Demeber 20 and the final decision on the extension of the session will be taken.
