Sir — Now that the 25-year-old Hadiya has deposed that she became a Muslim and married a Muslim entirely of her own volition, it is only just and fair that she is allowed to live with her husband. Looked at objectively, Hadiya is not a victim of “love jehad”. Hadiya has stood by her husband with courage and determination in the face of adversity and proved that love is “the marriage of true minds”. 

It is bizarre to attribute her steadfast love for the man she married to her alleged “mental illness”. The right to make personal choices is guaranteed by the Constitution.
