Security firm staff flees with Rs 1cr ATM cash

A man working with a security company responsible for cash movement from banks to ATMs ran away with Rs 1 crore on Friday evening in DLF Phase-II area.

The accused was identified as Hemant of Rohtak district in Haryana. Police said instead of filling the ATM, he fled with the cash.

On Friday evening, the four employees including Hemant, van driver, guard and one another employee of the company went to the DLF Phase-II to fill the ATM of the city bank.

Around 4 pm they parked their vehicle in the parking and Hemant took the bag containing Rs 1 crore to fill the ATM.

When he didn’t return for a long time the guard called him on the phone which was switched off.

Finding it suspicious he stepped towards the ATM but he was not there and later the employee informed the company. The firm then reported the matter to the police.

An FIR was registered under relevant Sections of the Indian Panel Code (IPC) at the DLF Phase-II police station.

“The co-workers of the accused were also being questioned. The CCTV footage of the nearby area is also being scanned. The investigation is underway. The accused will be arrested soon, Sudeep Kumar, SHO of DLF Phase-II, police station said.
