Income-Tax officials started searches in 21 premises in Chennai and 12 outside Chennai, in relation to crackdown of shell companies.
The premises which are searched include Patel Group, Marg Group, Milan Group and Ganga Foundations Group, said a senior official.
He also said that these groups have lot of shell companies and these are independent actions and not related to raids conducted earlier this month on properties of late Chief Minister Jayalalithaa’s former aide and jailed AIADMK leader V.K. Sasikala and her extended family members.
