Govt. initiatives helping Power Scenario in the country to improve

Speaking on the sidelines of the 20th India Power Forum on the theme “Sustainability of Power Business – Paradigm Shift for 24x7 Power for All”, Mr. Ajay Kumar Bhalla, Secretary, Ministry of Power, gave an overview of the progress of the various Govt. schemes. in the power sector. Govt. initiatives have helped in improving the power supply scenario in the country. The current peak power deficit in the country is less than 1%. All the 36 States & UTs in the country are signatory to the "Power for All" Scheme. The scheme envisages providing 24x7 “Power for All” consumers by 2019.
