Kyrgyz Armed Forces chief on visit to India

Chief of General Staff of Kyrgyz Republic's Armed Forces, Gen. Raimberdi Duishenbiyev, who is on a visit to India, army chief, Gen. Bipin Rawat on Monday.

Gen. Duishenbiyev was also accorded a guard of honour in the lawns of South Block, which homes the Defence Ministry, and later laid a wreath at the Amar Jawan Jyoti at Gate.

He has also been invited as Reviewing Officer of the Passing Out Parade at National Defence Academy on November 30, Army sources said.

Bilateral defence relations between and Kyrgyz Republic has been growing. The two countries hold the 'Khanjar' series of annual bilateral exercises, and has also been involved in setting up IT Centres at Kyrgyz Military Institutions.

and Kyrgyzstan are jointly constructing the Kyrgyz-Indian Mountain Training Centre in the city of Balykchi in Issyk-Kul district of the central Asian republic. This Centre will provide instruction and training for Kyrgyz personnel as well as hosting Kyrgyz-Indian joint mountain training exercises.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had visited Kyrgyzstan in 2015, while Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev paid a state visit to from in December last year.
