BENGALURU: Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation was the toughest paper of the lot in the Common Admission Test (CAT) that was held on Sunday, according to many students who wrote it in Bengaluru. The students felt that once again the paper proved to be their nemesis.  Some other students said Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension proved to be a tough nut.“Verbal Ability was tricky. Answers were similar,”  said Krupa Bathia, a student from Triumphant Institute of Education Management.

She said the Logical Reasoning paper was time-consuming. “We were asked to report at the centres at 7.30 am. However, nothing happened till 15 minutes prior to the exams,” she added. Another student Luv Agarwal said Logical Reasoning was tough and was similar to the paper last year.

Strict checking

Security checks were conducted like during NEET. Students were not allowed to carry anything besides their admission tickets into the hall. Some were asked to take off their shoes while girls had to take off their hair clips.

“I was not allowed to wear my belt. Some students had to remove their footwear. Checks with metal detector were done to ensure that nothing is carried inside,” he said.Ambuj Gupta, a student from Bengaluru who wrote the test in Mysuru, said students were asked to leave their footwear outside the building under a temporary shade.Gupta said he was also denied permission to carry water bottles. He too felt that Logical Reasoning was tougher than the previous year.

No privacy here

A student who wrote her exam at Gitam University said, “We were seated in a computer lab which had laptops. These were placed close to each other. When students asked for a partition, they were given pieces of cardboard to prevent other students from looking in,” she said. However, college authorities said they were unaware of it.
