Alleging anomalies in land allotment in Dehradun, the Jan Sangharsh Morcha has submitted a memorandum addressed to the Governor Krishan Kant Paul.
The Jan Sangharsh Morcha head Raghunath Singh Negi said that in the Raipur development block of Dehradun district, about two bigha land in Nehrugram locality had been allocated in 2011 to Assam Rifle Poorva Sainik Kalyan Samiti (ARPSKS).
According to the conditions of the land allotment, the ARPSKS was to construct and submit token amount without three years to secure allotment-related order from the district magistrate.
However, with no construction being undertaken and no token amount being deposited, the allotment of land to the said committee dissolved in 2014 automatically as it should have according to the conditions set. Negi alleged that instead of cancelling the allotment, the State Government discounted the token deposit in a single day earlier this year without the district magistrate’s report and other procedural requirements.
Stating that this resulted in revenue loss for the State, he questioned how the State Government discounted the token deposit for a land allotment which had been annulled according to conditions of the allotment. In its memorandum to the Governor, the Jan Sangharsh Morcha has demanded that necessary action be taken against those responsible for anomalies in this land allotment.
