Rajkot: A truck carrying a large cache of Indian made foreign liquor (IMFL) supply was intercepted and 8,544 IMFL bottles worth Rs 8,54,400 were seized from Sayala crossroads in Limbdi on Friday night. A bootlegger was nabbed from the spot, while two of his accomplices managed to give police the slip.

"The arrest and the seizure were effected during the night patrolling by our staff. The truck was spotted in a suspicious condition, following which it was intercepted and checked. We arrested Kala Rathod (47), a resident of Jhinjhuda village of Chotila taluka in Surendranagar district, while his two accomplices — Vipul Koli and Vaju Koli — residents of Jhinjhuda, fled from the spot in the cover of darkness," an official from Limbdi police station said.

During his interrogation, Rathod told the cops that he, Vipul and Vaju had procured the truck load of liquor from Goa and they were headed for Chotila to deliver the supply.
