Expressing her dismay over renaming Dyal Singh College (Evening), Union Food Processing Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal on Saturday termed the decision ‘unbelievable and shocking’.
The evening college was recently turned into a day college in July this year and renamed as Vande Mataram Mahavidyalaya on November 17.
In a letter to Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar, the Food Minister highlighted that changing the name would be a “great injustice to the crusader who sacrificed everything for educating people”.
