SAMBA: Samba Police has intensified drive against drugs and bovine smuggling under the overall supervision of SSP Samba Anil Magotra.
SSP Samba in an exclusive interview with STATE TIMES said, “Near about 78 FIRs have been lodged by Samba Police in cases related to drugs and NDPS Act in Distt Samba which were only 15 in 2016. “While talking about bovine smuggling menace, he said so far 57 FIRs have been lodged which was 40 in 2016”. However, 19 gamblers were also arrested while 8,000 vehicles were Challaned and 545 were seized so far. He further disclosed that 11 persons were taken into custody under PSA out of which seven were hardcore criminals, two drug peddlers and two were bovine smugglers. Under Excise Act, 80 FIRs have been lodged in 2017 which were only 20 in 2016.
