Assam Rifles personnel and Light Infantry regiment personnel of the Myanmar Army today started coordinated patrolling on river Tiau, the Mizoram-Myanmar border river, an official statement said.
The statement also said that the patrolling would conclude tomorrow.
The patrolling began from pillar number 28 in Lunglei district and would end at the border trade centre of Zokhawthar in Champhai district, which is located about 90 km upstream, it said.
Mizoram and Myanmar shares 404-km-long porous international border through which weapons and narcotics are smuggled, officials said.
