Clemens Mill Public School in Cambridge is no longer under "hold and secure" situation, which was rescinded roughly 45 minutes after it was first issued at the request of the Waterloo regional police Friday morning.

A notice was issued to families at approximately 10:15 a.m. today, stating the school is in a "hold and secure" state because police are dealing with an incident outside the building.

"Please be assured that everyone in the school is safe and we're able to carry on with our day as normal. However, until the police give us the all clear, we will not be able to release students from the building," the notice reads.

The Waterloo Regional District School Board reassured parents that students are safe. Parents were advised they would be updated through the school's social media channels.
