KAKINADA: Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham on Thursday set December 6 deadline for Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to announce his decision on Kapu reservation. In a letter written to the CM, Mudragada reminded him of the assurance he made during Kakinada municipal elections. “Our community is eagerly waiting to hear the decision on December 6, the death anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar,” he said.

The Kapu leader said as the deadline was approaching, Naidu is provoking his party leaders to speak against reservation to Kapus. The TDP leaders saying BCs will be affected if Kapus are given reservation is a lame excuse.

“We never demanded a chunk out of the quota of the BCs, which would give rise to clashes between the two communities,” Mudragada said adding that a separate quota should be created for Kapus and that too we are demanding only for the economically backward people in our community. He also demanded a categorisation of Balija, Ontari, Telaga and Kapu.
