The father of Conservative MP Boris Johnson was seen strolling into the Bushtucker trial area when fans heard a suspicious noise.

The loud sound was heard as he greeted sniggering hosts Ant and Dec but Stanley kept a poker face.

Many accused the 77-year-old of passing wind as he was the first person to enter the space, followed by the rest of his campmates.

In the episode, the celebrities were faced with a set of green benches for the political-themed Bushtucker trial.

But the arrival of newcomers Iain Lee and Kezia Dugdale at the task wasn’t enough to stop viewers from taking to Twitter to ask if Stanley had passed wind.

One person commented: “Did anyone else just hear that fart noise was that Stanley ?? #ImACeleb.”

“Can always rely on Twitter to confirm you aren’t crazy when you just heard a huge fart when Stanley walked in #imaceleb,” said another.

A third commented: “Still laughing at that huge fart Stanley ripped before #ImACeleb.”
