BHUBANESWAR: Police arrested a man for threatening Utkal University students in the city on Wednesday. Duryodhan Mahapatra of Bayababa Basti in Saheed Nagar and about 30 of his associates, armed with sticks, entered Gopabandhu Chhatrabasa, hurled abuses and threatened the hostel students. After the miscreants left, a PG first year student of Public Administration lodged a complaint with Saheed Nagar police. Subsequently, police nabbed Mahapatra from Saheed Nagar on Wednesday night.

“A case has been registered under Sections 143, 294, 506 and 149 of IPC and Mahapatra was produced in court on Thursday,” Saheed Nagar police said. Sources said the city police had also detained two private college students, but the duo was released after being given a stringent warning for not indulging in anti-social activities.
