JAIPUR: The mobile phone of the 40-year-old man, whose body was found hanging+ from one of the walls of Nahargarh fort, is going to be very crucial in solving the mystery surrounding his death.

Before his death, the deceased, Chetan Saini, had taken selfies which are intact. Police have handed the phone over to the forensic science laboratory (FSL) for examination. They have also asked FSL to find out if the deceased had uploaded any videos online.

Saini left his home at 3.30pm on Thursday and did not return last night. On Friday, local residents spotted a body hanging from one of the walls of Nahargarh fort and informed the police.

Police found a mobile phone in one of his trouser pockets along with other things, including his wallet. "When we checked, it was found that the deceased had taken some selfies with Nahargarh fort walls as the backdrop. We immediately handed over the phone to the FSL team for analysis," said additional commissioner of police (crime) Prafful Kumar on Friday.

Another scribble: "Padmavati ka virodh karne walon hum kille par sirf putle nahin latkate. Hum mein hai dum" (Those protesting against Padmavati, we don't just hang effigies from the fort... We have guts)

Asked if the police found any video messages indicating his death, Kumar said, "After seeing his selfies, we handed over the phone to FSL. The phone will be examined properly."

Police claimed that all the selfies were taken on Thursday in the sunlight and were clear.

They will also check to see if the man was in an inebriated condition. "He reached the Nahargarh fort area at 4pm on Thursday evening and was found dead on Friday morning. The post-mortem and other medical examination will help to ascertain if he was under the influence of alcohol or not," said a senior police officer.

*He was into polishing gemstones and had never participated in 'Padmavati' protests+ , so why would he write about the film on the wall?
