India has sent 3,000 family bags containing food material and other daily use items to Myanmar's Rakhine state that has witness high level of displacement of people due to large scale violence.
The family bag, contains 5 kilograms of rice, 2kg Masoor Dal, 1 kg sugar, 1 litre cooking oil, 1 kg salt, 500 gm of tea leaves, 2 bathing soaps, 2 mosquito nets, 1 kg milk power, 12 packets of biscuits and 4 packets of instant noodles.
India had earlier sent relief material to Bangladesh to help it tide over the crisis created by the influx of huge number of Rohingya refugees who have fled the Rakhine state to escape violence. Meanwhile, India has welcomed the refugee repatriation agreement signed between Bangladesh and Myanmar on Thursday. "It is a welcome and encouraging development," India's ambassador to Myanmar Vikram Misri said on Friday in Yangon.
