BJP, Cong gear up for Gujarat poll campaign

With process of filing nominations for the first phase of polling for the ensuing Gujarat Assembly polls completed, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and top Congress leader Rahul Gandhi are set to re-start their poll campaign in the poll bound State.

Prime Minister is visiting the State next week on two different days — 27th and 29th November and address total eight public rallies in Suarashtra-Kutch as well as South Gujarat regions.

Gujarat BJP incharge Bhupendra Yadav on Thursday said that PM Modi will begin his poll campaign from the district headquarters of bordering Kutch district Bhuj on Monday at around 11 am. On the same day he will address another two rallies in Saurashtra region at Jasdan and Dhari at 1:20 pm and 3:03 pm. Last and final public meeting will be at Kamrej in South Gujarat commercial Capital Surat at around 5:15 pm.

Modi who is the star BJP campaigner for the Gujarat polls will again visit on Wednesday, November 29. On the day he will address four rallies at Morbi, Somnath, Palitana and Navasari towns. According to the venue of the rallies were selected carefully as each public meeting of Modi would cover at least six nearby Assembly seats. He said that in the coming day, venues for more such public rallies would be announced.

On Friday All India Congress Committee (AICC) vice-president Rahul Gandhi is beginning his two day visit to Gujarat from Porbandar. At the birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi, he will interact with members of fisherman community.

In the afternoon he will address ‘Dalit Swabhiman Sabha’ at Sanand on the outskirts of Ahmedabad. He will have three more election related events in Ahmedabad on the same day that include interactions with doctors and other people related to medical professions as well as with people associated with education at two different venues. Late in the evening he will address a public meeting at Nikol area of Ahmedabad and will have night halt in the city.

The scion of Gandhi-Nehru family will kick-start the second day of his visit by meeting mourning family of late Congress leader Irshad Mirza in the morning at Ahmedabad. After that he will go to North Gujarat towns Dehgam and Bayad where he will address small corner meetings. The Congress leader will address five more similar meetings at Lunavada, Santrampur, Santbha and two other places in Central Gujarat. Later on Saturday evening he will fly back to Delhi from Vadodara airport.
