The Mercedes man has built up plenty of close bonds during his 10-year career in Formula One having driven for the German constructors and McLaren.

And this week he dropped a hint that the driver he's best mates with is Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo.

Hamilton has plenty of friends away from the track too and has been spotted with fellow sports stars Serena Williams and Neymar in the past.

The 32-year-old says the being he's closest too isn't of the human species though.

"Since I was born, my closest friend has always been a dog," Hamilton explained to The Telegraph.

In fact, Hamilton currently has two pet bulldogs named Roscoe and Coco.

And the duo regularly join their owner on his private jet as he travels the globe.

Hamilton revealed last year that he's had Roscoe's sperm frozen to ensure he can father puppies in the future.

"Roscoe in great spirits," the 2017 F1 champion said on Instagram after his pet went under the knife.

"Due to some complications, we had to have him snipped.

"However, since he’s the best looking bulldog I decided to freeze his sperm so that in time to come I could have his pups."
