Jitul Sonowal

Dimapur, Nov. 23 (EMN): Jitul Sonowal has been appointed as the new director of the North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC) at Dimapur on Nov.22 informed the centre on Thursday.
“The Ministry of Culture, Government of India has appointed Shri Jitul Sonowal as Director, North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC) on short term contract for a period of three (3) years. He joined as Director, NEZCC on November 22, 2017 at Dimapur,” stated the press release from the joint director.
Jitul Sonowal, who hails from Dibrugarh in Assam is 54 years old and an eminent singer, music director, composer, lyricist and performer with more than 30 years in the field of Assamese modern song and music; folk fusion; and folk music, the release stated.
He also works in Assamese Films and Movies; and Film Divisions of Assam.
