Heritage Motorcycle Expedition concludes

SHILLONG : The Assam Rifles organised Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Tri-Nation Unity & amp; Heritage Motorcycle Expedition concluded in Shillong on Thursday evening.

Earlier in the day on its last-leg, it was flagged off by Lt Gen Shokin Chauhan in presence of all ranks of Assam Rifles, students of ARPS and other civic dignitaries.

In his flag-in speech, Shokin addressed the gathering, expressed his satisfaction on successful completion of the Tri-Nation Expedition and congratulated the team members on their strength, determination and courage. He said that the expedition would remain in the hearts & amp; minds of the people of NE for long and foster good relations amongst the Border Guarding Forces of India, Myanmar and Bangladesh. He also said that such initiatives would help today’s youth of the country to be aware of our rich heritage and provide an opportunity to maintain the integral strength of the nation.


The expedition that commenced on 30th October, commemorating the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, traversed a distance of almost 2700kms in 23 days, through two neighbouring countries of Bangladesh and Myanmar and six Indian states of Tripura, Assam, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland and Meghalaya. The terrain was challenging which tested the grit, endurance, driving skills and patience of the expedition team. The Tri-Nation motorcycle expedition was aimed at fostering force to force contact between border guarding forces of India, Bangladesh and Assam, pay homage at all War Memorials across the route and connect with the Veterans, Veer Naris, youths, students and the local people of NE states and carry to them the message of Unity, National Integrity and pride of our National heritage.
