Meenakshi Nair of Delhi Public School (DPS), Raipur secured 3rd position and bagged bronze in the CBSE National Judo Championship held at Secunderabad. Organised at DAV Public School, Secunderabad, by CBSE, Delhi, from November 8 to 12, a school Press release informed.
More than 800 students contended from CBSE’s 8 zonal divisions in India. About 15 children from Chhattisgarh displayed their vigour in elimination, quarter and semi final rounds to reach the final round. All of them gave a stiff competition but Meenakshi Nair of Delhi Public School, Raipur ambled her way against her adversary to claim the Bronze, it informed.
In a swimming championship organized by Chhattisgarh Education Department, swimmer, Anjenaya Krishna also of Delhi Public School, Raipur notched 1st position in 50 meter and 200 meter ‘Freestyle’ at the Inter School State level Swimming Championship concluded at Jagdalpur from October 13 to 16, 2017.
“Aiming for the Nationals will be my next focus,” said an ever enthusiastic Anjenaya and true to his winning spirited prediction, he has been selected for the National Swimming Championship to be organized by School Games Federation of India at Delhi from November 25 to 29.
