PATNA: President of Bihar Police Men's Association Nirmal Singh and its secretary Shamsher Khan were dismissed from service on Thursday for consuming liquor and creating nuisance in an inebriated condition, Patna zonal IG Nayyar Hasnain said.
Nirmal and Khan were arrested by Patna SSP Manu Maharaaj from the Police Lines on May 3 this year in a drunken state. The duo were subjected to medical test which confirmed they had consumed liquor. The breathalyser test had also confirmed that the two were heavily drunk.
"The two policemen were produced in a special excise court of ADJ Ravindra Nath Tripathi from where they were sent to jail. However, they later secured bail," said a police officer.
