Villa boss Steve Bruce has previously claimed he will “break the bank” to sign Onomah on a full-time deal, having secured him on season-long loan in the summer transfer window.
But the 20-year-old has his eyes firmly fixed on becoming a regular for Tottenham.
“Obviously I want to do well here and help Villa get promoted, then go back to my parent club and get back in the team,” Onomah said, after scoring in Tuesday's 2-1 win against Sunderland.
“There is a lot of competition but that is football for you. You have to take it on board.
“Promotion is the aim now at Villa.
“We believed from the start of the season with the players we had, the staff we had.
“We believed we could get promoted.
“We are just taking every game as it comes and hopefully come May we are where we want to be.”

Onomah, who helped England to Under-20 World Cup glory in the summer, signed a long-term contract extension with Tottenham before joining Villa.
And the attacking midfielder has scored three goals in 16 Championship appearances.
He said: “It’s been like a dream, really. From winning the World Cup, it had never been done before with the under-20s, to scoring for the under-21s as well, it was a massive moment for me.
“I just have to keep on going. I just have to carry on in this positive mood.
“The people around me will keep me grounded. The experienced players here, they keep me level headed and remind me I have not reached where I want to reach yet.”
