Australia managed to recover from a slight top-order collapse with Steve Smith and Shaun Marsh sharing a strong partnership and leading their team to 165 for 4 at stumps on day two of the first Ashes Test against England athe Gabba in Brisbane. Australia were left in trouble waters after England bowlers picked up four wickets inside first 25 overs. After bowling out England for 302, Australia did not have a good start to their first innings. They lost Cameron Bancroft and Usman Khawaja early but the big wicket of David Warner was also lost early as Jake Ball dismissed him. Australia went to Tea at 76 for 3 but Peter Handscomb was dismissed immediately after Tea as James Anderson picked him LBW. Stuart Broad gave England the first wicket of  Bancroft when he was caught behind before Moeen Ali trapped Khawaja in front of the stumps. England, earlier, slipped from 246 for 4 to 302 all out as Mitchell Starc and Nathan Lyon turned the first session of day two in Australia’s favour.
