Deputy Development Commissioner (DDC)Faiz Aque Ahmad Mumtaz has ordered recovery of Rs 27,72,400 from those who were involved in the fraudulent withdrawal of money from 36 development schemes under MGNREGA in Ramkanda block within a week. The DDC of Garhwa also imposed fine of Rs 1000 each under the MNREGA Act, for not installing information board at the site in all 36 schemes.
In the light of the inquiry report, which confirmed the fraud, DDC Mumtaz has given orders to the BDO to recover the amount from the concerned Panchayat Sevak, Rojgar Sewak, Meth, with 12 per cent interest. DDC also imposed a fine of Rs 1000 each in each schemes.
He has also instructed the BDO to take legal action against the guilty persons. All the schemes fall under Ramkanfa block. In the cases related to check dams, dova and construction of road, toilets, etc, fraudulent withdrawal was done without any work done.
In the light of the complaint, the deputed Officer had inquired and submitted its report to the DDC.
Following the report, DDC ordered for legal action and recovery of money from the involved persons.
