Chandigarh, November 23, 2017:

Government of India has expanded the clientele base of Postal Life Insurance (PLI) amending the Postal Life Insurance Rules-2011. Sr. Supdt of Post Offices, Chandigarh Division, Chandigarh has informed that notification in this regard has been issued on 19 September, 2017

Now benefits of PLI will no more be confined to Government and Semi- Government employees. These will also cover professionals such as Doctors, Engineers, Management Consultants, Chartered Accountants, Architects, Lawyers, Bankers, Employees of private Educational Institutions/ Schools/ Colleges/ Universities and listed companies of National Stock Exchange (NSE) / Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). Department of Posts has taken a step to enlarge the cover of social security and bring maximum number of people under the protection of PLI. Introduced in 1884 PLI policies have low premium and high bonus, unlike the private ones.
