Market Now: PSU bank stocks bullish; PNB rises over 2%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty PSU Bank index was trading 1.45 per cent up at 4,052 around 2 pm (IST) on Wednesday, with all components in the green.
Shares of Punjab National Bank (up 2.17 per cent), State Bank of India (up 1.65 per cent), Oriental Bank of Commerce (up 1.53 per cent), Bank of India (up 1.34 per cent) and Canara Bank (up 1.13 per cent) gained over 1 per cent.
Syndicate Bank (up 0.98 per cent), Union Bank of India (up 0.95 per cent), Bank of Baroda (up 0.91 per cent), Andhra Bank (up 0.78 per cent), IDBI Bank (up 0.66 per cent) and Allahabad Bank (up 0.13 per cent) also registered gains.
Equity markets rebounded from day's low.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was 23 points up at 10,350, while the BSE Sensex was 124 points up at 33,602.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty50 index, 23 were trading in the green, while 27 were in the red.
Zee Entertainment, Adani Ports SEZ, State Bank of India, HDFC, GAIL and Ambuja Cements were among the top gainers in the Nifty50 index.
However, Tech Mahindra, Bajaj Finance, Bharti Infratel, Dr Reddy's Labs, IndusInd Bank and Aurobindo Pharma were among the losers in the Nifty pack of stocks.
