Gurgaon: The Huda workers' union on Wednesday demanded that the suspension order issued by the estate office-2 against five employees be revoked.
Union members gathered at Huda's Sector 14 office on Wednesday, the second day of their protest, and threatened to expose irregularities in the estate office-2 if the suspended officials were not reinstated.
On November 17, chief administrator of Huda J Ganeshan had suspended five officials of the estate office-2, including two junior engineers Sandeep Lot and Mohammad Ali, and clerks Aman, Amarjet Rana and Rajkumar Dhaka for complaints piling up.
The move came following a decision of the development authority to deduct the salary of employees for delay in clearing of online applications filed by citizens.
Following complaints on the CM Window for non-implementation of the citizens' charter, the chief administrator of Huda in 2016 had directed all estate officers to monitor its implementation in their jurisdictions and ensure services of Huda were delivered within a stipulated time.
The charter was prepared under Haryana Right to Service Act to fix a time frame for delivery of services provided by the government department and fix accountability of the officers. However, the authorities noticed that the practice did not yield the desired result, despite repeated directions from senior officials over pendency of files.
For the past few months, the chief administrator had been monitoring the pendency of complaints on the Public Property Management (PPM) system and took action after the IT department filed a complaint.
"The IT department's complaint against five employees was baseless. We verified the documents and found that there was no pendency," said Mukesh Kumar, the district president of Huda employees' union. Kumar added that they would stop working if the suspensions were not revoked.
Huda administrator Yashpal Yadav said the authority was trying to resolve the issue. "We have communicated the grievances of employees to senior officials," Yadav said.
