Singhvi also said that the prime minister had termed the Congress a "termite".
NEW DELHI: A day after BJP took offence to a meme tweeted by a Youth Congress handler, forcing its youth wing to apologise, AICC rolled out a series of "indecent and vulgar statements and tweets" made by many BJP functionaries, including the PM, against the Congress leadership in the past, and sought the ruling party's apology for their "vulgar lexicon".

Reading out a series of questionable statements made by PM Modi, AICC spokesman Abhishek Singhvi asked: "Did the PM apologise to the nation when he said 'Congress barks in the name of development'?"

He went on to ask: "Did Modi express regret when he compared the Congress symbol to a 'bloodstained palm'?" "Did Modi apologise when he called former PM Manmohan Singh a 'Night Watchman'?" "Did he apologise to the nation when he called Sonia Gandhi a 'Jersey Cow' and Rahul Gandhi a 'Hybrid Calf'?"

"Did Modi express any remorse when he said 'I had taken a random survey of 20 people and all of them said they would not hire Sonia ji even as a clerk'?"

"Did Modi express any regret when he called journalists 'bazaroos'?" Calling the PM a "serial abuser", Singhvi said Modi and the BJP leaders "are allowed to brazenly escape after making such crass statements"
