Working on secret plans: JPCC chief

| | RANCHI | in Ranchi

Newly appointed Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) president Ajoy Kumar has said that he was working on some result-oriented plans which would turn around the fate of the party in the days to come.

In his maiden media interaction on Wednesday after assuming the charge, the incumbent AICC spokesperson and former Jamshedpur MP also promised to bring stalwarts and senior leaders of the party together to defeat the BJP.

“I am not here to reveal much about what my strategies are going to be for the party. I have some secret plans with me which cannot be discussed before the media,” said Ajoy Kumar.

Though, he did not disclose much but dropped sufficient hint about behind the curtain talks continuing with ‘likeminded elements’ in order to resurrect the Congress ahead of the next Assembly elections.

Notably, it was The Pioneer that had reported about the ongoing talks with Babulal Marandi to merge his Jharkhand Vikas Morcha to the Congress.

Nonetheless he went on mentioning some of his immediate steps such as ending factionalism present in depth into the party and making its bases stronger starting right from the village and block levels.

“There may be camps into the Jharkhand Congress but no serious differences exist. I would utilise experiences of old-timers and senior leaders like Alamgir Alam and others. Also, hardworking and honest workers would be given opportunity from block to district and to State levels. My sole aim is to make the party strong right from village to towns of Jharkhand,” said the PCC chief flanked by CLP leader Alamgir Alam sitting right next to him but no trace of ousted State president Sukhdeo Bhagat and known faces of “his team”.

Kumar also used the occasion to attack ruling BJP Government, especially Chief Minister Raghubar Das. “The Government allotted 62 acres of land going beyond the earlier recommendation of the Department to Akshay Patra. Similar steps like lowering the Government price of land to appease their corporate friends such as Adani at Godda and Badkagaon have been taken earlier. The tendency is dangerous. Raghubar Das is running a poisonous Government,” he said.

The PCC president went on lashing  at the Chief Minister for his recent acts to regulate traffic in Ranchi and the directions passed. “His acts like these show that he is capable of being a traffic cop only. Chief Minister is beyond Raghubar Das’ pay grade. If he really mean heading a Government then the works on building master plan, flyovers, police commissionorate and various reforms should have been done instead of gimmicks like checking traffic management and helmets,” said Ajoy Kumar launching a tirade against the Chief Minister.
