Financier held for sexual assault on minor

BENGALURU: Rajagopalnagar police on Sunday arrested a 57-year-old financier on charges of sexually assaulting a 11 year-old girl after barging into her house in Chokkasandra near Peenya.

The accused has been identified as Prem Kumar, a resident of Lavakushanagar in Laggere. He runs a finance firm in the locality. The victims studies in Class 5 in a private school and her parents run a catering business.

A senior police officer said, “The incident occurred four days ago and the parents who noticed that the girl was disturbed, asked her what happened. She then revealed about the incident. Kumar, who had gone to collect monthly instalments, had barged into the house after making sure that she was alone at home.

The parents then approached Rajagopalnagar police and filed a complaint. Kumar was subjected to medical tests and it was confirmed that he sexually assaulted the girl.
