CHENNAI: It’s not often we get to interact with artistes we see during a live performance. However, that’s exactly what ‘Unstage’ by Red Bindu Project aims to deliver with acts by Silambam artist Aishwarya Manivannan and stage-cum-film actor TM Karthik.

“We wanted the the artiste and the audience to interact, and this being the 10th edition of Svanubhava, we knew there wasn’t a better occasion to do that,” says Anuradha Subramaniam, co-founder, Red Bindu Project.

Talking about the concept, she shares “This is called ‘Unstage’ because there will be minimal stage-set up. It will be more like a personalised setup where the audiences can feel right at home.” Karthik, who will be performing his famous award-winning monologue, Boris the Rottweiler, says, “I will perform for 12 minutes during the second half of the session.

I will answer any question from the audience. This kind of session is truly one-of- a-kind as the boundaries between me and those watching me will be negligible.”

The first half of the programme will feature an interactive Silambam demonstration by Aishwarya, who will also share her journey so far. “I will talk about the rich history of Silambam, a 3,000 year-old martial art, one of the oldest in the world. My team and I will also demonstrate some combat and self-defence moves. I think this is a great opportunity for people to learn the basics of a martial art and clear doubts,” she shares.

Unstage at Svanubhava will be conducted today at Besant nagar beach from 7.15 pm onwards. For detials visit their Facebook page: Red Bindu Project
