Weight loss: Adding THIS to a diet plan could help you lose weight without feeling hungry

WEIGHT loss: Diet plans and eating the right foods are key for weight loss, but dieters can be left feeling less than satisfied with small portions and bland food.

However, research has revealed there is one key ingredient to incorporate into a diet to ensure weight loss without hunger.

Whey protein has been found to blast fat while keeping dieters satiated.

Those hoping to pack on muscles have long known about incorporating whey into a diet, as it also helps muscle growth.

One study, which investigated the effect of the protein in conjunction with resistance training, found “resistance training or provision of adequate amounts of dietary protein can increase muscle protein synthesis in healthy adults”.

A 2011 study found those who got 25 per cent of their calories from protein cut cravings by 60 per cent

Another study, in Australia, tested the link between appetite and consumption of whey protein.

28 obese men were given fructose, glucose and whey protein drinks. Those who consumed the beverage containing 50 grams of whey had significantly reduced levels of ghrelin (a hormone that tells your brain you’re hungry) up to four hours later.

A 2011 study found those who got 25 per cent of their calories from protein cut cravings by 60 per cent, and reduced the desire for late-time snacking by half, compared to those on lower protein diets.

Whey protein can be bought as a powder, or in protein bars. There is also a water recently launched in the UK, Protein Water Co, which offers 20g of protein per 500ml drink.
