As rival comic book universes, both DC and Marvel were always going to have some echoes of each other.

However when it comes to the movies, Justice League did have more than just a few things in common.

Some fans have even accused it of having the same plot as the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War, with an alien’s search for Mother Boxes, seeming very similar to Thanos and the Infinity Stones.

Nevertheless Screen Crush have compiled a video claiming Justice League has many similar scenes and scenarios to the first Avengers movie, Avengers Assemble.

The video points out how both movies start with the planet “left defenceless” against aliens since a God-like character (Thor and Superman) has left the planet.

Enter the villain in a horned helmet (Loki and Steppenwolf), who arrives thanks to a magic cube (Tesseract and Mother Box).

One obvious connection is Joss Whedon, director of Avengers Assemble and Avengers: Age of Ultron who stepped in for Justice League reshoots.

Following family tragedy director Zack Snyder stepped down, while Whedon shot 15-20% of the movie.

It’s not entirely clear how much of his impact would have affected the story and its similarities to The Avengers.
