Man Utd news: Jose Mourinho ready to splash the cash on FOUR new signings

JOSE MOURINHO will be given the funds to make four big signings next summer, according to reports.

Manchester United spent close to £150million in the summer to bring in Romelu Lukaku, Victor Lindelof and Nemanja Matic.

Mourinho admitted during the transfer window he was hoping to bring in one more wide player to provide competition to the likes of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Juan Mata but failed to push through a deal.

He opened up publicly about wanting to sign Gareth Bale from Real Madrid while the club were consistently linked with a move for Ivan Perisic.

Antoine Griezmann was also heavily rumoured to be close to signing for United, but Atletico Madrid’s inability to bring in a replacement - due to a ban on signing players - led to the move falling through.

However, Spanish publication SPORT claim Mourinho will be fully backed next summer to bring in more superstars to Old Trafford.

It is claimed both Bale and Griezmann remain top of Mourinho’s wishlist and it was reported at the weekend United could spend as much as £136m to sign the duo.

Bale’s injury problems have once again led to huge frustration from Real supporters and his latest setback could be the final nail in the coffin on his future at the Bernabeu.

Griezmann’s future could also depend on how Diego Simeone integrates Diego Costa into the side once he officially signs in the New Year.

The report also suggests RB Leipzig’s Emil Forsberg and Valencia star Carlos Soler are high on United’s wishlist.

Marouane Felliani’s future is yet to be determined with his contract running out at the end of the season and Michael Carrick will reportedly call time on his career in May, meaning Mourinho will need to strengthen his midfield options.

And Soler, who is enjoying a stellar campaign at Valencia, is seen as the ideal replacement.
