

Gujarat Assembly Elections 2017: Congress' Second List Alters Names to Accommodate 3 of Hardik Patel's Candidates
The first list of Congress candidates triggered violent clashes between Congress and Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) workers on Monday.

Ahmedabad: The Gujarat Congress, in an attempt to placate the furious Patidar leaders, have come up with a second list of 13 candidates, including 9 new names and four in replacement of candidates from the first list that was released on Sunday.
While the first nine names are new, the following four are: Bhikhabhai Joshi in place of Amit Thummar in Junagadh, Jaish Patel in place of Kiran Thakor in Bharuch, Ashok Jirawala from Kamrej in place of Nilesh Kumbani and Dhirubhai Gajera from the Varachha Road seat in place of Prafulbhai C Togadiya.

Hardik Patel’s PAAS took strong objection to the 77 names announced by Gujarat Congress on Sunday in its first list of candidates for the Assembly elections next month.
Patel, who was supposed to cement his pact with the Congress on Monday, cancelled his rally in Rajkot. It was later announced that talks were still on with the Congress.
