Honnavar: Bike rider dies in Hit and run accident on Manki NH-66

Honnavar: A 65-Year-Old bike rider was killed after the bike in which he was moving was hit by the speeding car and lorry on Manki NH-66 of Honnavar taluk on 8th November, Wednesday morning.

The deceased was identified as Nagesh Kharvi.

During the incident, the deceased was heading towards the nearby region Kasarkod for his duty. He was professionally working in the fishing boat. A speeding car hit Nagesh's bike, which as a result Nagesh fell on the road. Suddenly, a lorry which was heading towards Honnavar, ran over victim's head, which made him collapse on the spot. Immediately after the incident, both car and the lorry fled from the scene. However, the car was caught at Shirali check post in Bhatkal. The police have spread the net in search of the lorry.

As the information spread, hundreds of youth gathered near the spot and helped Manki police in shifting the body to Honnavar govt hospital. The body was then handed over to the victim's relatives after post-mortem process.

A case has been registered in Manki police station and investigations are on.
