Real Madrid think Man Utd will accept Keylor Navas and David De Gea swap deal AGAIN

REAL MADRID reportedly think Manchester United will accept an offer for David De Gea that would see Keylor Navas make the move to Old Trafford.

Real Madrid nearly signed De Gea from Manchester United two years ago on a dramatic deadline day.

However, the Red Devils were able to retain the services of their No1 after paperwork problems saw the deal fall through.

Before that, United had accepted a deal that would see Costa Rica international Navas move to the club.

And Spanish website Don Balon claim Real Madrid reckon United will take the bait if they offer the 30-year-old to Jose Mourinho.

Navas' stock at the Bernabeu has plummeted in recent weeks.

The goalkeeper's form has been called into question with Los Blancos well behind Barcelona in the race for the La Liga title.

Navas has been a big hit since joining shortly after the 2014 World Cup, where he helped Costa Rica reach the quarter-finals in Brazil.

But, despite helping Real win the Champions League twice in as many years, a parting of the ways could be in the offing.

And Don Balon say Mourinho is open to having the goalkeeper in his squad for next season.

Whether he would invest in another shot-stopper, however, remains to be seen with Joel Pereira and Sergio Romero currently on the books.

Meanwhile, the president of the Costa Rica FA thinks Real should stick rather than twist.

"I think that Navas has been surrounded by rumours ever since he arrived at Real Madrid," Rodolfo Villalobos told Marca.

"At Real Madrid he has been a fundamental part of the titles the club has won.

"He has demonstrated that he deserves to be at Real Madrid.

"If Navas were to leave, Real Madrid would lose more than he would. He is writing his own story at Real Madrid and we hope that he stays there for many years."
