The actor, who is out on bail, wanted to visit that country for four days for opening a branch of his restaurant chain.

The Kerala High Court on Wednesday allowed actor Dileep, who is out on bail in the case relating to sexual assault on a woman actor, to visit Dubai for four days for the opening of a branch of his restaurant chain.

While granting him permission, the court directed the Angamaly Judicial First Class Magistrate, where the bail was executed, to release the passport for six days.

While granting bail to Dileep, the court had directed the actor to surrender his passport before the magistrate court as part of the bail condition. According to Dileep, he had been strictly complying with all the bail conditions set by the High Court.

Prosecution stand

Opposing Dileep’s plea, the prosecutor submitted that Dileep directly or indirectly had tried to influence the witnesses in the case after he was released on bail. If the plea was allowed that would affect the investigation adversely. Besides, the final report was in the the final stage of preparation.

The court then said that if the prosecution felt that Dileep had influenced the witnesses they should have filed a petition seeking to cancel his bail before the magistrate court. But the prosecution had no case that his petition seeking permission to visit Dubai was not genuine.

The prosecution submitted that they were thinking of approaching the magistrate to cancel the bail.
