New Delhi, Nov 21:
Silver prices went up by Rs 147 to Rs 40,052 per kg at the futures trade as participants widened their bets, mirroring a firm trend in the global market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in March next year was trading higher by Rs 147 or 0.37 per cent to Rs 40,052 per kg, in a business turnover of six lots. Similarly, the white metal for delivery in December was up by Rs 138 or 0.35 per cent at Rs 39,399 per kg in 339 lots.
Analysts said a firm trend overseas, where silver rallied, influenced the white metal prices at the futures trade.
Globally, silver rose 0.39 per cent to $16.92 an ounce in Singapore.
